Sage and Levi love hiking and the outdoors which lead them to choose Grand Teton National Park as their special elopement spot! They loved Swabacher’s Landing because it was easy to get to for their elderly grandparents and it has a stunning view of the Tetons with a reflection pond. It was perfect for their sunset ceremony!
Getting ready: Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole
Sage and Levi brought 20 of their closest family and friends to stay with them at the Wyoming Inn located right in the middle of Jackson Hole’s town. It has a cute western rustic aesthetic with accents of antlers and local artists decor. It’s super central to shopping and dining and only 15 minutes from the Tetons. It’s the perfect place to get ready for your elopement day! I met the videographers Christina and Adrian with World Weddings at Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole where we did some getting ready photos and then we headed off to do the first look at Swabacher’s Landing!
Elopement ceremony at Swabacher’s Landing
We all met at Swabacher’s landing just before sunset to do a first look and the ceremony. We all went ahead of the family and had a private first look at the end of the 1 mile trail. Levi was in tears to see his beautiful bride. They took a moment to hug and cry. The color of the trees were perfectly golden and there was no wind making for a perfect reflection of the Tetons on the water. We invited the family to come to begin the ceremony. Sage’s brother was the officiant. They chose to do a small ceremony with vows and a ring exchange. Their vows were kept short per Sage’s 4 sentence request. It was still very emotional and even members of the family were tearing up a little.
First Dance at Swabacher’s Landing
After the first kiss, Sage and Levi chose to do their first dance at Swabacher’s Landing, in true elopement fashion, surrounded by their friends and family. They danced to Forever to Go by Chase Rice and shed some more tears. They brought a small speaker and swayed under the Tetons as family watched and some recorded the moment. After the dance Sage and Levi said goodbye to their family so we could do some more portraits around the park.
Jenny Lake elopement photos
After we were done with a few photos at Swabacher’s Landing, we drove over to Jenny Lake to do some adventure style elopement photos. They hiked around, kissed under the Tetons, danced, and celebrated being husband and wife. Sage’s wedding band fell off while we were at Jenny Lake and we had to go back and find it. Luckily my assistant photographer Kendra spotted it sparkling in the sand! When we finished their elopement photos we all met the family for dinner!
Dinner at The Kitchen
Sage had planned dinner at The Kitchen to enjoy a delicious meal, drinks, and to cut cake! They serve American style meals. Bison and cow burgers, fried lamb, sautéed vegetables, french fries. Sage and Levi’s family members did some toasts recounting memories from childhood and funny facts about the both of them.
Drinks at the Cowboy Bar
After dinner everyone headed off to the Cowboy Bar for drinks and a party. We did a quick last photo in front of the sign and said goodnight. It was a full day, but it couldn’t have been more perfect weather for fall in the Tetons!
